Abstract

Rwanda's commitment to environmental sustainability is exemplified by its innovative waste management strategies, which align with the principles of a circular economy. This paper investigates how Rwanda is transforming waste into valuable resources through recycling, composting, and energy recovery initiatives. By implementing policies that promote zero-waste practices and encouraging private sector involvement, Rwanda is reducing landfill usage and minimizing pollution. The study highlights successful case studies, such as the Kigali City Waste-to-Energy project, and examines the socio-economic benefits of these initiatives, including job creation and improved public health. It also discusses the role of education and awareness campaigns in fostering a culture of sustainability among Rwandan communities.
